Eastern New Town CBD

Ningbo Eastern New Town is the symbol area of the international port city of Ningbo in the 21st century created according to the concept of “China’s Best, World Standard, and Future’s View”. Measuring 15.85 sq. km., including the core area of 8.47 sq. km., it is located at the geometrical center of the future municipal framework. As a close contact between Beilun port and Ningbo downtown, it will take on the same multiple urban functions as the present Sanjiangkou city core, forming a pattern of “one city, two cores”.

With urban functions of business, finance, trade service, conference, exhibition, government administration, and public culture as the major functions, supplemented with complete life, commerce and recreation facilities, the area will become a modern new district of southern water town features and local cultural spirit, being the image and identity of the 21st-century Ningbo.

The CBD of Eastern New Town occupies a total land of 156 hectares, with a total construction volume of 2.5 to 3.5 million sq. m., and will accommodate 100,000 to 120,000 working population. The CBD is the site of Ningbo International Shipping Service Center, Ningbo International Financial Service Center and Ningbo International Trade & Exhibition Center.
